Bollywood actress Guddi Maruti had once opened up about the dating scene in the ’90s film industry, sharing behind-the-scenes stories about her co-stars. She revealed how actors like Akshay Kumar were known for their flirtatious nature, while others, like Govinda, stayed focused on work.
Govinda’s focus on work
In a past chat with Siddharth Kannan, Guddi recalled that while most heroes were flirtatious, Govinda was different. She said he stayed focused on work, barely noticed women’s appearances, and would get shy if female co-stars tried to get his attention.
The actress added that actors back then kept their relationships private, often curious about who was seeing whom on set. She recalled actors complaining about actresses’ mothers being present, thinking it disrupted romance, but Guddi explained that mothers were always there to protect their daughters.
Akshay Kumar’s flirtatious side
She also noted that Akshay was quite flirtatious on set. While working with him on Khiladi, she recalled knowing two or three of his girlfriends, though he likely dated more.
Maruti aclarified that Kumar was very pleasant and easy to work with. Guddi added that while he may not have dated multiple women at once, he had a reputation as a heartbreaker, often appearing innocent despite widespread rumors about his romances.
Akshay and Twinkle’s love story
Akshay is happily married to Twinkle Khanna, and their love story is one of Bollywood’s most beloved. They met in the late ’90s during a magazine shoot, where they immediately connected. Their friendship gradually blossomed into love, though their path to marriage faced its share of challenges.
Twinkle’s candid and witty nature complemented Akshay’s reserved personality, forming a strong bond. In 2000, she famously promised to marry him if her film Mela flopped. When it did, they tied the knot on January 17, 2001, in an intimate ceremony with close friends and family. Since then, they have built a loving family with their two children, Aarav and Nitara.
